NMR Brings Home Ryder Cup Trophy - Hologram Style

NMR hits a hole in one with advanced technology!

November 12 — Monroe Township, NJ — NMR, a nationwide staging and technology rental company, made history come to life on September 17th, 2008 at the Ryder Cup in Louisville, Kentucky. As the emcee for the Ryder Cup Gala, Mr. Samuel Ryder, who died in 1936, caused quite a stir. Using the Musion Eyeliner hologram from Digital Illusions LLC, Sam was able to walk, talk, and play golf like he did nearly 100 years ago. NMR was responsible for the creative concept, set design, and audio-visual technology.

Utilizing Barco HD-18’s driven by Grass Valley Turbo iDDR’s, “Pepper’s Ghost” illusion was propelled to the utmost in clarity, engineered by Larry Lenoff. Sam Ryder’s voice was heard clearly through 18 deep Nexo Geo D Line Arrays controlled via a DigiCo D5 digital console manned by Lou Castellucci. Bringing Mr. Ryder to the limelight was accomplished by Dave Schultz and over 400 conventional, moving, and LED fixtures controlled from a High End Whole Hog III.

“This was a very unique and creative way to present the history of the Ryder Cup”, said Ed Conrad, Director of Staging Operations for NMR Staging & Events, who also served as the show’s Producer and Technical Director. “This was a very complex show to pull off with this element being the showcase, and our team pulled it off flawlessly.”

NMR's Tech Fair Hits it Out of the Ballpark!

July 18 — Monroe Township, NJ — NMR, a nationwide staging and technology rental company, recently held their 2008 Technology Fair at their New Jersey corporate office. NMR had state-of-the-art technology on display from their Tradeshow division as well as from their Staging division. NMR’s valued clients, being completely immersed in the technology, were able to get hands-on with the equipment and really see what it could do. All guests were able to fully experience NMR’s cutting-edge technology. NMR’s industry partners, Moss, GES, Drape Kings, and Freeman, all contributed to the extraordinary, polished finished-product resulting in a huge overall success. Use the link to see a video recap of NMR’s Tech Fair: http://www.nmrevents.com/techfair2008.cfm

NMR had various types of displays ranging in size from 15-inch LCD’s to 103-inch plasmas. As the exclusive US rental provider for Simbioz, NMR had the FS series, a 46-inch touch-less interactive LCD display, available for demonstration and participation. With an integrated sound system and 3-D display capabilities, the FS series has advanced interactivity by detecting hand gestures. Applying this same technology to the industry’s largest plasma, the Panasonic 103-inch sprang to life exuding amazing 3-D manipulation without making contact with the enormous screen. The Speaker Demo room allowed the listener to experience a wide variety of audio systems and speakers. The WinVision 1875, a modular, see-thru LED wall, made its debut at the Tech Fair. LED thrived as the Versa Tiles on the walls, the Versa Tubes on the roof, and the Chroma Q lit bar wowed the clients. Flown above the bar area was an Orion 4220 Seamless Plasma 3 x 2 wall, donning the newest and coolest slim profile brackets. The new 4220’s are frameless, customizable, and are equipped with an anti-glare coating. The Staging division demonstrated a 16 x 9 two screen blend, 16 x 9 HD digital projection, NEXO GEO D speakers, and Robe moving lights to function as a General Session. They also had a full stage set up with lighting, audio, video equipment, and even Robo-Cams so that one could view the live action on the two screen blend.

“This year’s Tech Fair was extremely successful for everyone involved. Not only did it give NMR an opportunity to showcase our ability and our commitment to continuous improvement, but it also demonstrated our dedication to giving clients the latest in cool equipment,” said Jason Newman, Director of Technical Services for NMR. “The turnout was impressive and the clients were blown away by the display of innovative ideas and incredible technology.”
